1) Despite the name, very little actually happens in the hospital.This is a soap opera with multiple mob factions at the core of almost
all the story lines, which makes it macho enough that you can DVR it without feeling like too much of a housefrau. Based on the number of guns pulled in an average week, this should instead be called “General Firearms”.
2) If anyone asks you if you’ve been to Port Charles, New York and you say “Yes” they’ll know you’re lying. This is the fictional town where the show takes place. If you’re looking for a good Port in New York try the Port Authority located at 625 8th Avenue New York NY 10018 where you can find a bus to take you almost anywhere you want to go (except Port Charles).
3) There are four central families in General Hospital: Quartermaine (the wealthy millionaire corporate types), Spencer (Luke and his family), Corinthos (the main mob family), and Cassadine (the family that provides most of the ‘bad guys’ for the story lines). Michael is Quartermaine / Spencer (although adopted as a Corinthos) and Christina is Corinthos /Cassadine. When asked who is your favorite family, go with the Spencers they been around since the seventies, everyone loves a mainstay.
