1) During the line-up, remember the most important thing is to look like you can play. While all the other shmucks are standing around, you should be stretching nonchalantly—squats and leg lifts are a solid way to show you’re in tip-top shape, yet totally uninterested in the picking process. Once done stretching, casually wiggle your right leg back and forth as if you kick balls in your sleep.
2) Be the captain. If all else fails, appeal to the coach or gym teacher to put you in charge of the picking. Use sports knowledge, sports trivia and stories (“So last year in the APC dodgeball championship game, I noticed…”) to impress the powers-that-be and show you’re worthy of leading the team (and therefore eliminating yourself from the draft.)
3) If down to the final two and your reputation is on the line, run over to any team before the pick is even made and go for high fives. People love high fives, and will probably forget they didn’t even really want you on the team in the first place.

Writing A School Paper
1) Make the periods and commas a larger font to expand your paper. This will normally go unnoticed and will add on average 12.5% to your paper.
2) When finished with the paper go back to check for errors. In addition to this, use the thesaurus option on word. Changing a word like “problem” to “quandary” can turn a C into a B (let’s be real anyone looking for in-depth paper writing strategies on 3thingstoknow.com is probably not getting an A)
3) Break it down into small work sessions. A 15 page paper may seem nearly impossible, but treating it as 15 one page papers and not waiting to the last minute to write it all will make it much easier for you.
Presenting With PowerPoint
1) Comic Sans is more like comical sans and almost impossible to read. Stick to other fonts such as Times New Roman or Garamond so everyone can easily read what you have up there. Colors are also important. Stay away from dark colors on top of dark colors. Go with bright on dark, but not black and yellow, they are better suited for songs.
2) Make sure you know what you’re talking about so when someone asks you a question you can confidently give an answer and continue with the presentation. If you are unsure about the answer tell them you will look into it further and email them with more information. Giving clients false information is just bad.
3) When using PowerPoint, do not use long drawn out paragraphs, instead use 3 short bullet points per slide to remind you of what you are talking about. Remember 4 is too many and 2 is just not enough.
The First Day Of Class
1) Ask someone to be your class partner for the semester. The old saying “two heads is better than one” is true, especially when it comes to confusing homework assignments. Plus it’s a great way to make friends (especially with that cute girl in class).
2) Books are expensive and you’re broke. Don’t spend hundreds on books (even if it’s your parents money). Instead use websites or ask previous students of the class to purchase books.
3) If you are new to the school and commute, go there the day before your classes start and check out the parking. Time your trip to see when you would have to leave to make it there on time. Being on time or early on the first day means one thing: more time to get that seat next to the cute girl!
